Padmapriya performed more than 200 public performances to her credit. Her passion for acting and modeling has made her successful in her films. Her first film was in Telugu. She then started acting in malayalam movies, where she acted with all the superstars such as Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi and Jayaram. Her first film in Tamil being Thavamai Thavamirundhu paired with actor/director Cheran, which turned to be a huge hit. Then followed Pattiyal a film directed by Vishnuvardhan in which she paired with Arya.
Malayalam actress Padmapriya, who is presently shooting for writer-turned-director Shridhar's debut venture Thamassu, has said that she never knew that the Kannada film industry had such an amazing actor like Shivaraj Kumar. She feels that her chemistry with him on the sets is unique, very committed and professional.
Padmapriya is unbelievably happy ever since she was given the Tamil Nadu state award for Best Actress for Tamil film Mirugam. She was happy she did that role and believes that she does movies because acting is her passion and she loves it. She feels she is still living the character of Nadeera from one of her Tamil films, Pokkisham.
