Azure Dynamics has logged 27 additional Ford Transit Connect Electric sales, including a five-unit sale to returning customer FedEx, a four-unit order from the City of Toronto, a three unit purchase made by DTE Energy and a 15-unit order from various Ford commercial truck dealers.
At FedEx, the five Transit Connect Electrics - ordered through Holman Ford-Lincoln in Pennsauken, NJ - will join one of the world's largest fleets and further FedEx's goal of decreasing the environmental impact of its day-to-day operations.
DTE Energy, headquartered in Michigan, is expanding its use of alternative-fuel vehicles and the three electric vans will be vans among the first pure electric vehicles that the utility company will employ.
An additional 15 Transit Connect Electrics were sold to 14 Ford commercial truck dealers who will use the vehicles as demonstrators to entice potential customers and increase awareness of electric vehicles.
